CSCI 445: Introduction to Image Processing

Dr. Erin Rickard will be teaching CSCI 445: Introduction to Image Processing, Fall 2011, 11:20-12:35 TTH. A special permission form will be needed to enroll in this course, which can count for either the Computational or Application elective in the CS (theoretical) curriculum. Prerequisite: CSCI 220, or MATH 160, or MATH 344

Topics include:

  • analysis
  • morphology

Important Curriculum Changes for Fall 2011

CSCI 390
  • prerequisite is now CSCI 220 (dropped 310)

CSCI 410: Operating Systems
  • renumbered to CSCI 356: Operating Systems

CSCI 430: Organization of Programming Languages
  • renumbered to CSCI 350: Organization of Programming Languages
  • now offered in fall instead of spring

CSCI 445: Image Processing 
  • this class is replacing CSCI 485: Introduction to Robotics in FA11
  • offered T/Th 11:20am
  • will apply to either "Computational" or "Application" elective

CSCI 450: Principles of Compiler Design
  • has new prereqs: CSCI 210 and CSCI 350  (old CSCI 430)
  • dropped prereqs: CSCI 220 and CSCI 310
  • now offered in spring instead of fall (starting SP12)
  • will be offered once in FA11 for seniors who have already taken CSCI 430
  • Seniors who have NOT taken CSCI 430 MUST take CSCI 350 in Fall 2011

CSCI 490: Software Engineering II
  • prerequisites are now CSCI 220 and 330 (dropped 425)

Grand Strand Tech Expo

The annual Grand Strand Tech Expo will be held on Monday, March 14th, from 12-6 PM at the Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort at 10000 Beach Club Drive, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572. Registration and parking for this event will be free. Students are encouraged to attend and network with potential employers. More information is available at www.gstechexpo.org
